Kaamasen Kievari is a Finnish establishment offering year-round accommodation, a restaurant and bar, and outdoor adventures. We are approximately 28 km north of Inari, in the Sami village of Kaamanen, on the banks of the Kaamanen River, roughly 360 km north of the Arctic Circle.

Karigasniemi, Norway is only a short 70 km drive north-west and Utsjoki, one of the furtherst northern cities in Finland is approximately 100 km north of Kaamanen, close to the Arctic Ocean. 

Excellent camping, fishing, hunting, skiing, and snowmobiling opportunities exist within a few meters of Kaamasen Kievari. Reindeer sightings are common! Kaamanen is located in the middle of the wilderness with no distraction from bright lights typical of city environments. Thus, the village is a great place to take spectacular photos of the Northern Lights beginning late September until early March.

Maps, fishing and hunting licences, and snowmobile permits are for sale at the front desk.

Guided fishing, hunting, and sailboat adventure trips and equipment rentals can be arranged with our local tourist outfitter Kaamasen Kaira ja Opastus.  Children and families are welcome.

Fresh baked pastry, convenience foods, and souvenirs are available daily at Kaamasen Kievari. In addition, a few comforts of  home are within walking distance, including a Neste gas station and Kotipuoti groccery store, which offers a post office and small pharmacy.

Kaamasen Kievari serves as a major bus stop for Gold Line, Matkahuolto, and Eskelisen-Lapinlinjat, bringing visitors from all over the world.
