Guided Snowmobiling Day Trip in the Kaamanen Wilderness

Come and spend a beautiful, peaceful day with the locals enjoying the snowy views of the Kaamanen Region. This fully guided snowmobile adventure trip will take you away from the Sami village and into the wilderness where there is a good chance of seeing reindeer in the wild. Your guide may also take you to frozen lakes for the opportunity to go ice fishing with nets or rod if the weather conditions are suitable. All fishing gear is included. A warm campfire with coffee and goodies will be served. Bring warm clothes and your camera! Helmets are provided. There may be the possibility to rent your very own snowmobile at additional cost if you choose not to ride along in the sled. Duration: 3-4 hours. Price: 75 € per person, minimum 2 people. Group Size:  2 Adults (children which sit in their parent’s lap are no additional charge!).

A Day in the Life of a Reindeer Herder

Come spend a few hours with a real Sami reindeer herder as he attends to his reindeer herd in the forest.  You will have the opportunity to watch the reindeer feed in their natural environment as the herder examines the animals for good health and body condition. We will take you for a ride on a snowmobile sled where you can also personally feed the reindeer and enjoy the beautiful winter scenery away from human disturbances. Afterwards we will enjoy a hot cup of coffee around the campfire. Be sure to dress warm and bring your camera along. Excursion lasts from 2-4 hours depending on where the reindeer herd is located. Price is 65 €/per person including tax. Maximum 4 people per trip. Make your reservation at least 24 hrs in advance. Trips depart from Kaamasen Kievari.

Ptarmigan Hunting with Professional Guide and Bird Dog

The autumn hunt (August, September, early October) requires the use of your own shotgun and the winter hunt (usually late November-late March) utilizes trapping with snares. 170 €/day. Price does not include license fee nor personal clothing.

Kayaking Sightseeing Trip on the Kaamanen River

Enjoy the services of a local guide for a peaceful scenic 7 km paddle down the Kaamanen River. This kayaking adventure will take you up close to experience the natural beauty of the Muddusjärvi watershed. You might get lucky and see a moose swim across the river, watch waterfowl take flight, or see trout jump. Suitable for the intermediate skill level. Bring along your sunglasses, camera, and warm waterproof clothing. We also recommend you bring a beverage and lunch.  Included: life jacket, kayak, paddle, and spray skirt.  Transportation by car back to Kaamasen Kievari is included. Duration: Approximately 3 hours. Price:  60 €.

Scenic boat cruise and fishing in Kaamanen

Enjoy the services of a local guide for a peaceful scenic cruise along the Kaamanen River. This fish trolling trip will take you up close to experience the natural beauty of the Muddusjärvi watershed. You might get lucky and catch trout, Arctic char, perch, or pike. A side trip to the waterfowl viewing tower in Toivoniemi may be included if the weather conditions are suitable. Bring along your sunglasses, camera, binoculars, and warm waterproof clothing. We also recommend you bring a beverage and lunch. Included: life jacket, fishing equipment, and fishing license. Price:  60 € per person. Minimum Group Size:  2 people.     

Fishing (Trolling) Trip on Lake Inari

Full-day trip + 1 night is 190 €/ person, minimum 2 people. Price includes: use of life jacket and fishing rod and lures, fishing license, gas for boat, and the services of a professional guide who will also help prepare your meals. Overnight accommodation is included in the cost, in either a tent, Tee-Pee, or forest cabin. Price does not include food or personal clothing.

Sail boat Sightseeing Trip

To Ukonkivi on Lake Inari. Approximatley 3 hrs in duration, 165 € flat rate (maximum 4 people). Price includes shoreline campfire and coffee. Additional cost for a full-day trip which also includes fishing and more sightseeing. Price does not include personal clothing.

Gill-Netting Fishing Trip

120 €/ trip flat rate (maximum 4 people) to help bring in the fishing nets from a local lake. The trip lasts from 4-5 hrs. and includes 0-3 km of moderate activity level of walking. Trip includes: hands-on experience working the nets, campfire coffee and hopefully a fresh fish fry, with leftovers for you to bring home. Price does not include personal clothing.
